Introducing - Allyship Book Club
Starting 1st November 2020
Read, Learn, Take Action, Repeat

We are reading more, so why not do it together. Introducing Allyship BookClub, launching on the 1st of November. My aim is to shine a light on unrepresented voices and lesser known authors and on books that will help the Allyship community learn and grow.
There are two powerful and mind changing books to choose from this month:
1.The Purpose of Power - How to Build Movements for the 21st Century by Alicia Garza - Co-Founder of Black Lives Matter

Or
2.Subtle Acts of Exclusion - How to Understand, Identify and Stop Microaggressions by Tiffany Jana and Michael Baran

And if you like reading more than one book at a time. The Fiction books recommended are:
My Sister The Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite
Half of a Yellow Sun - Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Love in Colour - Bolu Babalola

Most of us will get through 2 books a month, but the aim is to read the recommended book(s) and check in and share our progress, thoughts, opinions and questions remotely once a month. You will be encouraged to take time away from the digital world one to two evenings a week.
I will put a Poll on LinkedIn and the book chosen for November by you will be announced on the 1st of November 2020.
Am ready, are you?
